Gabriel Rosenstock was born in 1949 in postcolonial Ireland. Poet, playwright, haikuist, essayist, and author/translator of over 180 books, mostly in Irish, he is a member of Aosdána, a Lineage Holder of Celtic Buddhism, and an Honorary Member of the European Haiku Society. He has taught haiku at the Schule für Dichtung, Vienna, and Hyderabad Literary Festival.
