This is an anthology of poetry about the NHS. It includes poems by 70 poets about receiving life-saving treatment, about the people who deliver that treatment with empathy and resilience, about friends and family and their intimate journeys and about the impact of both ill-health and the effect of the interventions aimed at curing it. It celebrates the fact that access to medical care doesn’t depend on the lottery of good or bad fortune.
Poems for the NHS is edited by London poet Matt Barnard, author of Anatomy of a Whale, also published by Onslaught.
Profits from the book will be donated to NHS Charities Together.
